When does your credit report take a hit?

I filed ch. 7 on 11/23 my credit score actually jumped up 20 points when I checked it the month after filing. Will it take another hit after the discharge or does it take the hit when you first file?

    Thanks

Ours took a hit within a week from filing. It was very surprising. When it hits - expect your scores to drop.

My understanding is that generally speaking if you have a low score when you file (lots of lates, negatives, adverse public records, etc), filing bankruptcy can actually improve it. But if you have a score of 800 when you file, you can expect to drop about 250 points.
