I filed ch. 7 on 11/23 my credit score actually jumped up 20 points when I checked it the month after filing. Will it take another hit after the discharge or does it take the hit when you first file?
My understanding is that generally speaking if you have a low score when you file (lots of lates, negatives, adverse public records, etc), filing bankruptcy can actually improve it. But if you have a score of 800 when you file, you can expect to drop about 250 points.
