7-10 day review from CapOne - am I In?

First, I BK'd about 14K with CapOne after having been with them for 10+ years. I had applied with them twice before and received the "you have too much outstanding debt with us, you are not approved and a pull on your credit report was not done in making our decision."

I waited 45 days and applied again - today. I received the "in 7 to 10 days upon approval your card and details of your agreement will be mailed to you." Could I really be getting approved? Does this message mean I'm pretty much in? Anyone out there with any similar experience?

I worked part time for a credit card company once. When customers inquired on the status of their application, we could only tell them they would get a letter in the mail in 7-10 days. It was their way of saying the card was denied.

    But who knows,

Yes, please report back when you receive the letter. I BK'd on them, too. I may try to apply with them again in a couple of months. Out of all the cards I've had, CapOne was the best to me (well, and Discover was good, too). They gave me great rates. I had been with them for 10+ years, also.

To find out if you were approved without talking to anyone:

Call 800-955-7070 -- press # each time it asks you to enter your card number. You should need to do # three times and then it will offer you some menu choices.

Press 4 for "New Accounts", and then 1 for "Check Application Status".

        ----

You most definitely can get approved even if you IIB Capital One.

I included one of their accounts in my BK that was discharged 09/09. I waited until I had an offer in the "Check If You Are Pre-Qualified" section of their website (11/09).

I was approved for an account with generous terms that I am very pleased with.

People like to call them CrapOne, but I have always found them rather agreeable.

The only thing I wish they had was "instant capture" on the website transaction list (i.e. showing you the amount and place of pending charges too).

Well, I was not approved. I got the "too many outstanding debts with CapOne" line. But like always, they said that no hard inquiry was done. I wonder why I got thru this time to the 7-10 day review and not the instant denial. I'll try again in three months. For now, I have the usuals - Credit One, Orchard, and HSBC Best Buy MC for a total of $1500 credit all together.
