Credit Scores 7 Mos Post BK

    TU - 701
    Experian - 658
    Equifax - 691

What is strange is that my Experian score went down from 696....and no idea why. Maybe it's cause I stopped paying on my car which was included in the bk? There's nothing new and derogatory in my reports so not sure why it decreased.

And my TU score jumped 100 points - so no complaints there.

But all in all, not bad scores for (correction) 6 mos post bk.

How did you get the Experian score? They stopped selling it to the public in February.
If these were scores you purchased directly from the CRAs and not the FICO website, I'm afraid they may pay only a passing resemblance to what creditors see. Some call them FAKOs.
If a loan officer pulled them, however, I suspect they're accurate.

You will find out as we have and as many do that credit scores don't mean a thing to some creditors if there is a BK on your records. Unfortunately, that's just the way it is.

I got the scores from TrueCredit by Transunion monthly monitoring. It's a 30 day free trial which I will cancel within 30 days. Was just curious what my c/u's were looking like.

I want to sign up with NACA within a yr so I can buy a place so just wanted to get an idea where my scores were.

I'm not applying for any new credit right now. The 5k ccard that NFCU gave me was more than enough.

My scores from myfico some months ago were TU - 596, Exp. 696, and Equifax - 626. I suppose one of you guys are going to tell me that myfico scores don't mean squat either?

Hey - maybe one of you experts can answer a question I have. I have 2 cards where each one is showing 90 days late 2x. Are they allowed to do that? Esp. when the time I stopped paying to the time I filed was only 5 mos.

No, MyFico.com sells you authentic FICO scores, though creditors CAN extract somewhat different versions of them. However, they illustrate our point (if you care to see it): the FICO scores show a middle score -- the one a mortgage lender will use -- of 626 (Equifax), barely above the 620 FHA recommends lenders seek. The TrueCredit (FAKO?) scores you report in your OP show a middle score of 691 (also Equifax). That's quite a difference!
You certainly are free to choose whichever one makes you feel better. But, understand that a lender isn't under any requirement to make the same choice.

Really, you can shove -- oops, I mean you ought to lose the know-it-all attitude. You came here and asked a question, okay? I was among those who answered as honestly as we could. Personally, I won't make that mistake with you again. Good luck, and good-bye.

Hey Whacko (oops, I mean Hacko) - YOU Loose the ATT-I-TUDE. I've been on this board a bit longer than you and have benefited from it and also helped many folks along the journey. People like you with your Newbie Tudes don't last long.

AND - if you read and spoke English - my original question had to do with one of my scores dropping and my stopping payments on a car that was included in BK. YA didn't really address that - did ya? No. You were more interested in pointing out that my scores weren't real. Helpful - You were and are NOT.

For you to take such offense to "experts" must mean one thing - that you have an extremely low self-esteem. Must suck to be you especially when I was asking a legitimate question to those who know more about credit reports than I.

So Back-Off Hacko. If you can't be a decent human being you will soon learn that BS like what you just tried to dish out is not welcome here. Learn it quick or others on this forum will not want to deal with you.

                  Forum rules state:
"All BF users agree not to call people names or write a post simply to make a personal attack, or get a negative reaction; this behavior is not allowed on our forum. The use of derogatory language aimed at anyone will be severely dealt with. There is no need to agree with each other, or to even like each other. However, by signing onto BF you agree to treat each member and guest with the respect they deserve. No threats or personal attacks will be allowed."

Danaf your post asking "the experts" was sarcastic (I also took it that way). This thread will be closed if it does not get back on track as to the original subject. You should be aware of the forum rules since you are a long time member; or please take a moment and review them.
