8mo out Ch7 friendly credit card, that checks Equifax

    Hi all, been a while.

I was discharged on 07/15/2008. I am looking to apply for a credit card that will be Chapter 7 friendly, about 8 months out of my discharge. Equifax score is 623. Nothing derogatory since the discharge. (Only 5 months of on time payments on a 1yr $10k joint secured loan.) Long story short, I need one that will check Equifax - rather than TransUnion or Experian.

I was just approved by Hooters who checked TransUnion, and Orchard Bank/HSBC who checked Experian.

CapitalOne I don't think is an option, because I included two accounts with them in my bankruptcy. My understanding of them is they won't be interested in hearing from me again.

Any ideas? Only applying to increase credit score, as I'm interested in better positioning myself for a mortgage in the next year(s). Don't mind paying a reasonable annual fee (none of this 270 fee for a 300 credit limit junk). Don't mind if it's a store credit or a general credit card.

Having a hard time finding who uses Equifax...

EDIT: Others also included in BK (need to avoid most likely): Citi, Discover, Advanta, AmEx, BoA, GE, & MBNA.

Do yourself a favor. Check everything I say with a bankruptcy attorney. Most attorneys will even provide a free initial consultation. In fact, it's your life, so check everything anyone says (including your attorney) for yourself!

We've received several "pre-approved" applications from Juniper already.

Anybody had luck with them? We aren't in a rush to have any credti cards right now though.
      Chapter 7 filed 10/21/2008
      341 - 11/26 went smooth NO ASSET
Took 115 days after 341 - But Finally DISCHARGED 3/25/09

I was receiving 1 pre-approved credit card app. a week from them for a while. I applied and was approved for 6K. 2 months later I applied for an Apple Juniper Card through Apple since I wanted to take advantage of 0% interest for a MacBook purchase over Christmas but was only approved for $500.

2 months later Juniper reduced my credit limit from 6K to $1150 stating in there letter it was because of my previous BK. They just sent me the card 6 months earlier so that's BS.

I was using my Juniper card as my main credit card and was paying it off every month but now I have ripped my cards up and will not use them again.

I've had my Juniper card for about 3 mos now. $2500 CL, 7.9% interest.
          No complaints so far.

If you are rebuilding your credit, shouldn't you just be concerned about which bureaus that the cards report to? These credit cards should report to all 3 bureaus, even though they approved you based on a certain one.

I had a state tax lien post to TransUnion and Experian. It's for taxes for a company that I own. I'm going to be disputing it and fighting it as much as I can with the state. They apparently sent all correspondence asking for information to an outdated address, even though there is a change of address on file with the state filed a long time ago. Not receiving a response, because I never got their correspondence, they "computed" an assessment for about $2,000. I'm giving them the information to show there is no tax due, and they're going to mark the lien as released.

I'm not sure if I can get the lien off my reports, since regardless of whether it was proper, it was a filed lien. (BTW, anyone know my chances here?)

The lien hasn't posted to Equifax (yet), so I was hoping to get a card from someone who would use Equifax and not see the invalid lien.
