    Selling a house after bankruptcy

Does anyone know when it is "safe" to put a home up for sale on the market after filing a Ch 7 BK?

I have some equity in my house and I plan to sell it this spring or maybe summer. I don't want to put it on the market too soon because the equity is protected in a bankruptcy and the cash probably isn't protected if there's a sale or even an offer. At least, that's my hazy understanding at the moment.

Sorry if this is a repeat question. I tried to search for previous posts but it's hard to sort through all the results that came back. Thanks in advance for any insight you can share.

Wait until your bankruptcy is closed. Right now your equity is exempted, don't rush things.

Exactly. If your Bankruptcy estate is closed, then go ahead and put it on the market. Happy selling!
