Hi everyone,
I haven't posted in the forums for a little while. I filed for Chapter 7 last year and got discharged in October. I graduated from the Chapter 7 thread to this thread!
I need to buy a new car and need to know what to expect. It's been 5 months since I got discharged, will I be able to qualify for auto financing or auto loans? My husband will most likely be getting the car financed under his name because he has an income, a record of consistent payments to his student loans and auto insurance, etc. I am not working. Also, both of us have not applied for any credit cards since the discharge. I read that we should wait at least 5-6 months after discharge before applying for any credit cards so that's why we haven't applied for any. Should we apply for a credit card and get that going before we start car shopping? How difficult was it for you to buy a new car?
Any advice and insight would be greatly appreciated.
