We will soon be buying another vehicle. We will be looking for a used van (about $15,000 price range) and will offer a $2,000 down-payment. (We could scrap up a little more if we'd need to). We have presently been with Woodforest for a couple of years and have a small CD, checking and savings with them. Should we move our funds to a credit union? Will we have a better chance at a loan with one of the loan companies the big dealerships (Dallas area) use? Our son is paying 2 student loans on time which are in our name and show on our credit report, so I suppose that each month our credit report gets better as he makes these payments. We have no other credit and have been with our current employer, residence over 5 years.
