Hi! I am in a pre-discharge stage and would like to find a car dealership in Los angeles, CA that would deal with pre-discharge customer. We got an offer from a Honda dealer who apparently has a pre-discharge program, however, we would like to know if anyone know where we can find more of those dealership? From my experience, you need a pre-discharge finance company. I went to one dealership that told me they would do pre-discharge and that the financing was approved by one of the lenders they had a relationshiup with. On the day I was supposed to sign the papers, the dealership told me that the "guaranteed approval" lender would not finance until after the discharge. Why did they even bother to give a preliminary approval?
Then, I did some internet searching for finance companies for people in bankruptcy, I don't remember the site I used -- but I put in basic informationn on the site and a dealership called me withing a few minutes and I was able to make an appointment, sign the application and pick up the car within a week.
I was only able to get a used car, but I needed something to get back and forth to work. Interest rate was sky high -- 18.99% with $1500 down
