    Its Your Choice

    YOU choose?

    A Satisfied Mind

    How many times have
    You heard someone say

    If I had his money
I could do things my way

    But little they know
That it's so hard to find
    One rich man in ten
    With a satisfied mind

    Once I was waitin'
    In fortune and fame
    Everything that I dreamed for
To get a start in life's game

    Then suddenly it happened
    I lost every dime
    But I'm richer by far
    With a satisfied mind

    Money can't buy back
    Your youth when you're old
Or a friend when you're lonely
Or a love that's grown cold

    The wealthiest person
    Is a pauper at times
    Compared to the man
    With a satisfied mind

    When my life has ended
And my time has run out
My friends and my loved ones
    I'll leave there's no doubt

    But one thing's for certain
    When it comes my time
    I'll leave this old world
    With a satisfied mind

    How many times have
    You heard someone say
    If I had his money
I could do things my way

    But little they know
That it's so hard to find
    One rich man in ten
    With a satisfied mind

A Satisfied Mind lyrics: How many times have You heard someone say If I had his money I could do things my way But little they know That it's so

I think with the loss of good paying jobs in this country every working middle class person should simply file a BK to get out of debt. That way our government will either wake up and pay attention to us, or they will continue to ignore the real problems here at home. But at least we will have a nation free of debt.. .lol

I sure agree on this one. Remember the phrase "It's the economy, stupid?" Our government is paying itself around the real problems, the working (and in too many cases, the ex working) class is being ignored. High rollers are getting hand outs and the working class, you know, the ones who buy cars, HDTVs, and all that stuff that makes for work, are not able to afford to do so. That circle of money is slowing down and the unions, bankers, lawyers, bureaucrats, are getting rich while we file, file, file.

Bankers raising CC interest, lowering the account balance and forcing many who otherwise eek it out some way into an impossible situation in which bk is the only solution.

It is time to not only take care of yourselves as government does not care about you except once every four years for one day.

Take care of your neighbor if you are able to after yourself, not by government force and taxes, but by love.

If the government wanted to help us at all, kill IRS for six months and give us our money of 15, 20, 30% whatever we are being stolen in our taxes and let us spend it our own way. Then the economy would get on its feet.

As a marksman (person) you are, I think we feel the same. Home and family then government. After all, aren't they OUR employees? They forget this now don't they? 'Hub

We may be getting there. According to www.msnbc.com, bankruptcies increased 32% in 2009, making it the 7th worst year on record with over 1.4 million petitions submitted. If you want to read up on it, the story was posted by someone else in the Bankruptcy and Credit News forum.

Read DMC's very fine thread: http://www.bkforum.com/showthread.php?t=50320

It is an eye opener. In my post at the bottom I remarked HHMMMmm maybe bk wasn't such a bad business decision after all. I meant to be kidding as well. I now KNOW I made the right decision. 'Hub

Hub.. thank you for your original post. I am still struggling with this BK thing but only b/c I fear the wrath of one person.. the MIL. She's a financially successful person who managed to dig her way out of debt all on her own, but she was a very career driven woman who worked just about every minute of every day. She is always preaching to us about financial security and paying bills and debts and blah blah blah. We even had a loan with her! That was not a good idea.. talk about letting someone in on your financial issues.

Your post made me realize I should have NO shame for what we are doing. We are not failures even if she does try to make us feel that way.

Good post. The more you have just means the more you stand to lose and the harder you can fall. All I need is food, shelter, good friends and my loved ones, the rest is just a bonus.

It is not her decision to make. It is yours. The reason for the transcription in the song is, for any reason, you can lose it all in a day. What is really important is Health, and Family. To all others "cast not your pearls........" they don't matter. 'Hub

I knew it was a joke. It's just that the numbers in the article really shocked me! I knew 2009 was bad, but come on, THIS bad? Very scary!

I won't say that I hope 2010 is better, because I'll get a dozen posts already saying that 2010 will be worse because........ (insert 1000 reasons, real or imagined).

I still wish everyone a Happy New Year, though!
