I am shocked by reading some of the things you guys are dealing with in this forum, don't you know that most of the stuff they are doing is illegal. You guy's really need to start fighting back.
This is really helpful information for anyone dealing with debt collectors. There are so many kinds of phone calls from debt collector's that are considered harassment and you can SUE THEM! and you really don't even have to be able to afford an attorney.
There is a thing called the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) and it says that if debt collectors are harassing you or depriving you of your rights at all, you can sue them and THE DEBT COLLECTORS HAVE TO PAY THE ATTORNEYS FEES, not you. Anyone dealing with collectors should definitely check out www.consumercounselgroup.com and read the FDCPA to see if any of the stuff debt collectors have been doing to you. Just e-mail the lawyers on that website and they'll tell you if you have a case for no charge.
