    Expenses for Chapter 7

I'm converting my Chapter 13 into a Chapter 7 hopefully in the next month. I just lost my job so I'm on unemployment.

How does this list of expenses look? I'm single and live in San Diego. I read that the standard for Housing and Utilities is $2162 for San Diego County

    Schedule J Question

I am working on filling out Schedule J for my Chap 7. On line 1. it asks for mortgage payment expenses. I have 2 properties. One is a primary and one is an investment rental property. Should I submit two schedule J s? One for each property or just add everything together on one?

Hi! I have been number crunching my Schedule J all day, and this is what I came up with....

First we are a family of 6 living in Maryland. We are way below the median income on the means test.

    Average Monthly Income: 4575.16

    Mortgage: 1180.00

Confused about Means and DMI on J

I seem to be getting myself more and more confused about the means test and DMI on Schedule J.

I'm trying to understand if a Ch. 7 is right for me. I fall WAY (really, really, embarassingly WAY) below the median income for the means test. If I put my numbers into Schedule J, I have...

    Schedule J and 1099 expenses

My spouse and I are hoping to file Ch. 7, but our J shows about $400 dmi. My husband does 1099 construction work and his pay fluctuates wildly. It just happens that the past six months were not as dire as the six months before that. We deduct all of his expenses related to his work, including vehicle...

What about tithes? Will the trustee say no?

If our income is 6700/mo (net), and we pay 10% tithes on our net, so we pay 670/month in tithes to our church, will the trustee allow that amount for charitable contributions on the means test? (And, yes, we could show cancelled checks for that amount for the six months prior to the bankruptcy.)

Could you critique my Schedules I & J?

I've just finished a draft schedules I and J for myself and would love to hear your comments and suggestions... Schedule I should be fine, so concentrate on J! If a line number isn't listed, then it's "0".

Keep in mind, Spouse is not filing.

    Schedule I:
    1. Monthly...

  • Student loans & Unsecured debt of Non-Filing Spouse on Schedule J

Now that I finished the means test and the majority of the "easier" schedules, I've moved onto Schedule J -- current monthly expenditures.

While I am aware that a debtor's student loan payments cannot be included as a monthly expenditure in a Schedule J (or in the means test...

    Hi Everyone:

I will be filing on Nov. 4th, so less then 30 days for me...I just want to make sure I've got everything going right. We had to wait 6 months for severance to drop off. With just my salary I am below the median for a family of 5 in my state.

    We are hoping to use...

    Adjustments on B22c? Attorney unwilling

    Hello,

We are in the midst of preparing a Chapter 13. Our attorney doesn't want to claim any additional expenses on form B22c, outside of the strictly normal IRS allowances.

Is there a reason for that? (I haven't gotten a satisfactory response from my attorney.)
