Scott T. Dillon is an Associate in the Bankruptcy department of Tully Rinckey PLLC.Scott focuses his practice on bankruptcy litigation, including Chapter 7, Chapter 13 and Chapter 11 filings. He previously was an Associate of another Capital Region firm and a New York City International AMLAW 100 Firm. He has represented secured lenders, debtors, trustees, and creditor committees in consumer and commercial bankruptcies throughout the northeast corridor and has represented national lender institutions. Scott has extensive court experience client representation in U.S. Bankruptcy Courts, U.S. District Courts and N.Y.S. Supreme Courts. Scott has represented individuals and companies in all aspects of their application for bankruptcy protection. He has litigated all manner of bankruptcy disputes including fraud-based / preference actions, claim disputes, non-dischargeability actions, mortgage and lien stripping on residential homes, professional retention, fee applications, relief from automatic stay, objections to confirmation and plan modification, and negotiating and drafting forbearance and recapitalization agreements. Scott also has international experience in representing a creditorsâ committee (with over 60,000 creditors) in an international bankruptcy case involving UK businesses. Scott received his Juris Doctor from Touro College, where he served as the Senior Editor of the Touro Law Review. He was also awarded Academic Achievement Scholarships and Academic Merit Scholarships. He earned C.A.L.I. Awards for Academic Excellence in Legal Methods I, Legal Methods II and Federal Income Tax. Scott received his undergraduate degree in Finance and Business Administration from Wagner College. He has also contributed to the publication, âRestructuring Sovereign Debt,â in The Law of International Insolvencies and Debt Restructurings, Oxford University, 2006.
