Food is Jesse’s singular passion. He started J. Haskins Law, P.A. to focus on local food communities. Jesse knows the legal ingredients for food communities to thrive: compliance, risk management, and strategic planning. These issues were the crux of Jesse’s experience as an attorney for the State of Florida and the insurance industry.For the Florida Department of Financial Services, Jesse instituted workers’ compensation compliance actions against restaurants and defended the State’s investigation procedures relating to the use of Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits. He is happy that he does not do this anymore, but this experience has given him a keen eye on compliance and regulatory issues.As a result, Jesse knows regulatory traps and insurance pitfalls. Jesse graduated from the Duke University School of Law in 2009 and is admitted to practice law in Florida and North Carolina. His favorite ingredient is tahini.
