Mr. Jakob earned his bachelor’s degree (dual major in economics and government) from the College of Arts & Sciences at Cornell University. He earned his master’s degree in economics from Duke University. After working in Washington, DC for National Economic Research Associates he earned his MBA, with a focus on finance, on a scholarship to what is now the Fisher College of Business at Ohio State University. While there he earned his law degree from what is now the Moritz College of Law. In law school he was a member of the school’s ABA moot court team; a published author in, and managing, editor of, The Ohio State Law Journal; and a symposium editor of the Harvard Journal of Law and Public Policy. During law school Mr. Jakob served as a judicial extern to the Honorable Alan Norris, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit . After law school he clerked for the Honorable Oliver W. Wanger, U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of California. Mr. Jakob handles civil and business/commercial litigation through trials and appeals. He also engages in post-judgment litigation relating to judgment enforcement and the defense of creditor rights in bankruptcy.
