mine's kinda-sorta ironic. I'm a food stamps caseworker. so, when my clients imply that I don't know what it's like to be broke like them... well, I can assure them I know a little bit about it. maybe I'm not as bad off as some of them, but I'm not up on a high horse looking down on them by any means. not to mention I'm sure my job pays way less than they think!

well ok ill tell you what ive been doing for a living hopefully you guys will still be my friend. i fell into a really good paying collections job at a young age, making great money in commission, i promoted quickly to collection manager and life was great, i had money to go out to expensive clubs and weekend getaways every weekend. been on many wonderful out of country vacations....it was softcore collections tho, collections on people who fell behind on their timeshare payments. we didnt report to the CBR's, all we could really do is call them and talk them into paying. well i left that job due to harrassment from the other manager. went to another company doing collections for several lines of business including state taxes, and criminal fines, dealing with people who have been in prision things like that, now that was hardcore collections. it was low paying but within 6 months i was promoted again to collections supervisor and it was a relief, i was making good money again and slowly pulling myself out of the debt i created. well that company went belly up and now im back to bottom of the rung customer service 10/hr job. they keep promising me supervisor positions will be opening soon.....kinda ironic huh...a collector filing for bankruptcy. i never thought it would come to this but it did. and i wasnt a mean collector, i treated everyone with respect but it was my job to call and collect the money. i dont want to be a collector anymore. after all this is over im going back to school to be a surgical technologist. i want to actually do a job that makes me feel good about myself. when im at work and someone starts telling me about all their problems in my head im thinking dont i know it!retained lawyer june 08, filed may 09....341 on 6/26/09- went smooth! Oh, and professional musician. Ditched the real job after 23 years in academia and actually made a meager living doing music for a few years, until we were carjacked at gunpoint while on tour. Lost EVERYTHING from instruments to our entire stock of 5 CD titles to our toothbrushes and clothing. And the car, of course. That's how I got here....equal parts bad judgment and bad luck. Now I'm back to digitizing rare books.Filed chapter 7: June 9, 2008

I was in banking for 13 years, last couple years in commercial real estate as an analyst/ account manager for construction loans and a Paralender for commercial lenders (like a paralegal for lenders).
Since moving back to KS, I now work as an Executive Assistant for an ex- banker that I worked for years ago, liquidating the holding company for the bank he owned and doing some commercial /construction loan brokering.
Very flexible job, I'm much happier than I was in banking and GLAD I got out of it, actually."You can never get enough of what you don't need to make you happy."
