    Record worth anything?

Wondering if any of you know if records can be worth anything.

Here's one I have that I can't (probably not looking in the right spots.) seem to find a good price..

    The album is:
    Johnny Cash - America
This is the one from 1972. Unopened.

So far I've seen about 15 bucks for opened and played units.
    Ideas?

The price is what the market will give. I have an original Johnny Cash Sun records first album. Would I sell it? No. Could I get this very worn out record with the jacket almost gone? NO price I would take. But there is a buyer for everything. You just got to find him. 'Hub
If I knew it all, would I be here?? Hang in there = Retained attorney 8-06, Filed 12-28-07, Discharge 8-13-08, Finally CLOSED 11-3-09, 3-31-10 AP Dismissed, Informed by incompetent lawyer of CLOSED status, October 14, 2010.

Buzzstpoint, I wouldn't worry about it. Almost no one will purchase a 33 1/3 rpm record any more. I purchased a couple of used Moody Blues records in 1996 for about 2.00 each.

Fast forward to 2009, I offered them for sale at a yard sale, and the guy only wanted to give me 50 cents for them. *BOLSHOY* I kept my records. And I can still play them and enjoy them.

Yeah, Not really gonna stress about it.
When my grandmother passed, I pulled boxes upon boxes of records. Took my weeks to sort through them. Pulled ones that looked worthy. The rest I couldn't get rid of them.

Finally found a carnival. Asked the guy that had the baseball throw with the records hanging if he would like to have about. 300-400 records. He took them, but I had to buy him some cheese curds and a soda to take em..
I picked some the sparked my attention and they've been sitting up in the closet since.. I was just rummaging thought looking for something and seen them..

YES, the occasional rare album is worth $$$.
For instance, if you happen to have this little gem :Very Rare Spikes Seven Pods of Pepper Orchestra on Nordskog 3008A 3009B, you might get over 1800 for it.
or this one:"Bllleeeeaaauuurrrrgghhh!" 7" Slap A Ham Yellow Cover Blue Vinyl Infest 1991 , which was an even grand

completed auctions on ebay are a pretty good gauge:http://www.ebay.com/csc/Records-/306...&_sop=16&_sc=1

However, your record doesn't SEEM to be worth much. Used went for 1.99. No unopened ones turned up, but I'd guess it's not worth enough to be of any interest to a tt.
