Thanks for the info, Dylan! I will let my hubby know this is available as he loves stuff like this -- was it on instant streaming?

Hubby travels and arrives in hotels at odd hours when the only thing on televsion is likely to be infomercials and he LOVES having Netflix on his tablet to fill the gap so he can chill out before getting some sleep.

We make good use of our Netflix account -- we both use it and my son uses it down South in college!

Tell me more about Netflix, vall. What's it cost and can you download and view in pieces at a time? 'Hub

Our Netflix bill is $7.99 per month for unlimited streaming content.

You can't download it to your device and view it so you need to be somewhere with internet connectivity - but the streaming we have experienced is FLAWLESS. No stops or stutters. You can pause it for hours and start right up where you left off. I watched "Breakfast at Tiffany's" the other morning and would have sworn I was in a theater - the picture and sound quality are that good on my Nook and even better on hubby's eee Tablet. With three family members using it, I feel that we absolutely get our money's worth.

I understand Comcast is going to be offering (and may already be doing it in some markets) a similar streaming program with broader series programming called Streampix for $4.95 per month - if they offer a free trial we may see how theirs works out.

We are members of Amazon Prime and we get the free use of their streaming video library as part of our membership. (Their choices don't seem to be as broad as Netflix though) As members, we also get 1 free Kindle download per month from their library (hubby put both the Kindle and the Nook reader apps on his tablet so this works for him). The best part of Amazon Prime membership IMO is the free 2 day shipping on any purchase you make from directly from Amazon.com and from many of their Marketplace sellers, too. To me, shipping costs are often what make purchasing online less cost effective - but I am very comfortable saying that we get our $79 per year's worth and we get our stuff in 2 business days!!

LOL, I think I just told you how to build a clock when all you asked me was what time it is.

Hope your day Wednesday is happy, 'Hub!

Thanks Val. As a once teacher, I too am guilty of over explaining. At least I've learned a lot. 'Hub

Question asked: was it on instant streaming Answer: YES, one day I watched 6 hours in a row. I don't have the Netflix DVD option.

In the late 1930s, world politics begin to head in a dangerous direction. In Europe, Germany expands and rearms and proceeds to annex several border countries into the Reich. Meanwhile, Italy attempts to establish a Facist Colonial Empire under Mussolini while the Empire of Japan stands ready for a major war with China. Enter the Henry family, headed by career naval officer Victor "Pug" Henry. "Winds of War" thus follows the exploits of Pug and his children, all of which are set against the backdrop of world events leading up to the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor in 1941. Written by Anthony Hughes

The follow up series is War and Remembrance which is 1620 minutes long. Available thru Netflix on DVD only.
