    Strange weather in Minnesota

This has been the strangest weather I can remember since our Halloween blizzard. It is December 31st and there is no snow on the ground. Tonight's forecast is the first sign of possible winter weather. Is this happening all over or are we just lucky this year. I fear that all this nice weather is going to come back and bite us!

    Forecast for December 31st, 2011
    ___________________________
7 p.m. 38 degrees with light rain mixed with snow. Winds from the West at 10 to 20 mph.

9 p.m. 32 degrees with rain changing to all snow - roads getting slippery. Winds from the Northwest at 15 to 25 mph.

12 a.m. 28 degrees with accumulating snow - roads slippery and gusty winds will cause significant blowing snow with low visibility. Winds from the Northwest at 25 to 35 mph with gust to 45 mph. Travel could be dangerous in rural areas.

Twin Cities Metro Area Forecast for today through Monday: Mostly cloudy today with fog, drizzle and scattered rain showers at times - temperatures this afternoon will be in the low 40s with breezy Southeast winds at 10 to 20 mph.

Same here. In the 50's today but I'll take it. Gonna head out for the last long walk of the year.
Last year we had the Xmas blizzard which was also bizarre. We had the Halloween one too.
Chicago area is supposed to get slammed this winter the way we did last year. It all has to do with Nino/Nina- not gonna hunt for the tilde lol.~

Until just the last few days it has been relatively chilly for us here in Phoenix. This has been one of the colder Decembers I can remember around here. Certainly not the coldest on record, but still, quite nice and chilly.

And the mountain towns to the north of us have had a good amount of snow-- enough to open the snow ski lifts relatively early this year.

But it's quickly changing back to our normal warm pattern again.

Of course, what we consider "chilly" around here, most people would call a warm spring day. It's all what your body gets used to, I guess.
