    Kudos to the Red Cross

Just wanted to post something good for a change. As most know, the Northeast had major flooding issues, first with Irene and then with the remnants of Lee.

My granddaughter, her fiance and their 2 year old were given 15 minutes to evacuate their home here in PA as the water rose quickly and unexpectedly in their area. They managed to get out with only the clothes on their backs and a few items for the little one. They have lost everything they own, including their home, they are not alone, many are in the same boat here.

The Red Cross set up shelters across the state, providing food blankets and etc. for those who were stranded. They also continue to provide clothing and basic needs for some people.

I just want to say a big thank you to this organization. I've always knew this was a good organization but I guess until it hits home, we really never think about how fantastic they really are.

Of course meanwhile, I just read an article on msnbc.com where the Feds can't agree and there may not be any disaster relief because FEMA will shut down.......well, I got some words for em but don't wanna get banned.....LOL.

Anyway, thought the Red Cross deserved some recognition.

BTW - this issue made me realize that there really are people who are worse off than those of us who filed, are in the process, and/or thinking about BK. At least we didn't or won't loose everything.
