Smashed TV's

I'm at work and my manager says we got a call about broken TVs behind the property..

About 6 televisions (Tube type) smashed. This is down an embankment off of our parking lot.. the TVs weren't broke like just the screens.. I mean totally smashed and busted apart... They came from the neighbor hotel which is renovating.

Odd thing.. no circuit boards, or the back of the tubes where there. So I spend the last hour and a half picking up the glass and shells out of the dirt. Pisses me off. Especially when our dumpster was/is 15 feet away.

Wow - I think the circuit boards maybe worth some money from a metal recycler...

Yeah. There are some scrappers out there that will pay 15 cents a pound for computers, but not printers or TVs. So people will take the circuit boards and put them with the computer stuff.

Why didn't your boss just report the hotel for littering????? Here in PA, that would be a major fine. You can't give away an excellent working TV here either, nobody wants them or any parts from them. Ya gotta pay the scap yards to dump them,,,,LOL.

We are neighboring hotels. You can better believe we will be calling next if any more gets dumped.

I talked with the Maint Mgr of the place next door and he said he threw those tvs in his 30 yard dumpster and "Some with with a beard and handlebar mustache did it.."
My bet would be the maint mgr himself.
