bottom line here is you really need to know your prices. shoot, i wasn't going to join bj's since they raised there fee to $50 yearly, but butter is 1/2 the price there as well as a number of things we use regularly. yet other items are far more expensive.
we still find ourselves going to 3-4 stores i.e. walmart for can goods and cleaning products, shop n save for avocado's, tomato and bananas while, (albertson's is where i seem to do the best for food) and then open markets for SOME local veggies and fruit to save money.
it's a ton of work trying to save a dimeLast edited by tobee43; 07-27-2011, 08:20 AM.8/4/2008 MAKE SURE AND VISIT Tobee's Blogs! http://www.bkforum.com/blog.php?32727-tobee43 and all are welcome to bk forum's Florida State Questions and Answers on BK http://www.bkforum.com/group.php?groupid=9

makes you think though - really - what COULD we hunt to eat? Fish are out as most waters are now full of mercury thereby making the fish inedible; deer, rabbits, birds... hmmm... ok, maybe - but I draw the line at eating song birds, pigeons, and anything from the rodent family!
I think Bear Grylls might be the only person to survive...along with cockroaches! That man will eat anything!

For those that don't know, WalMart will match any sale price from any competitor. At our store, they have all the local newspaper sale papers right at the register. Most people don't know about it, and they recently just started advertising it, but it has been their policy for at least 15 years now.

I am so sorry folks missed it - I did post, can't remember when, about coffee prices going up so bought a TON of the stuff - enough to last for 6 months or so, when I heard prices were going up.
I can't/don't do Wallmart as I abhor their employment policies and the way they treat employees. I actually spend more time in dollar stores and thrift stores and give them the dollars I have.
