Again, I agree. After all the Coolly Damn was built at that time and we here in our County have brick streets in acres of farmland. Some good stuff, some bad.

I disagree on this spending and where it is going. It is obvious that he is feathering his nest. It is all about him. IF the spending was on all those (infrastructure Jobs) shovel ready jobs, I could agree with you. Now we are printing money with no value. The time to pay the Piper will soon come.

To catch up mistakes of the banks and unions does nothing for jobs. Putting that money to "shovel ready" infrastructure would actually value our Country and give jobs not UC to those who are not working. The dole is getting old and cannot last before we end up BK. 'Hub
If I knew it all, would I be here?? Hang in there = Retained attorney 8-06, Filed 12-28-07, Discharge 8-13-08, Finally CLOSED 11-3-09, 3-31-10 AP Dismissed, Informed by incompetent lawyer of CLOSED status, October 14, 2010.

I agree about the banksters - 100000% - I alas don't about the unions...I worked for a union for over 10 years (until I got laid off), and they are but small potatoes - unlike in the 50's for example, when they were powerful, and the country was moving at full speed!

Yep, the fed is creating money...from...nowhere....

The problem with that is 90% of Americans believe their vote is wasted and worthless unless they vote for the person they think is going to win. We also have a large majority that only vote for whoever MSNBC, CNBC, CNN and the Big 3 tell them to.

Ron Paul certainly could do no worse than the current adeministration and his czars who have done absolutely nothing other than killing UBL.

He has some...odd views as to domestic policy - I for one do NOT want public schools, fire departments, etc. privatized. I wish we would have a parliamentary system with proportional representation, and maybe a coalition of libertarians (Paul) and progressives (Bernie Senders, etc.).

Hey I am in agreement on the above except the public school systems in this country are in the crapper for a variety of reasons and something needs to change.

Hello Meatstick - let's not throw all public schools in the same hopper - there are many that are excellent, some...that are horrible. Not enough $$, massive societal problems coming into the schools, underpaid teachers, bad management, etc.

I hope everyone just keeps in mind that, "We can't focus all of our attention on all the small tree branches but focus on the roots." Meaning where is all the money going that can be spent at home for education etc... If we keep looking at the small things we won't get anywhere.. just do you own research and follow the money..

Actually, the fed is NOT creating money from nowhere. If they were we would not have to "borrow" it and would not have just finished this debacle over raising the debt ceiling -- we would just print whatever we need. Although hyper-inflation may be the only answer to the growing deficit as soon as we reach critical mass and have nothing left after paying interest, defense and medicare. Social security should NOT be part of the debate - if it needs separate tweaks to remain self sufficient then deal with it separately.
Taxes ARE the problem. The Bush tax cuts have contributed to the growing concentration of wealth in the hands of few which is bad for society. All the Bush tax cuts should be allowed to expire. Then we should talk about a 10% surtax on income above 1 million until we have a balanced budget AND are not involved in military conflict. Finally. lets declare war on energy dependence - will stimulate the economy, help us win the war on terror by ending the real reason they hate us, and help deal with climate change - win, win, win. These would be a good start.
