A round of Golf and here goes our future??? EXCUSE me...please help me explain this??

Then BOTH the Reps and the Dems in the later 90's dismantled our PROTECTIONISM (not a dirty word) and the industrialists/banksters exported all manufacturing to CHina, etc. Then in the 2000's, two wars were put on the credit card, and today, half measures at best are being done...

This is way more involved than simply action of the last few years. Starts way back in the Reagan era when he started the mind set that "government is the problem" and the idea that supply side economics works. Clinton and democrats gave us a reprieve in the 90's when they raised taxes and we balanced the budget with surpluses set for as far as the eye could see. Unfortunately, before he left they all repealed glass steagall that helped set the stage for the abuses on Wallstreet. Bush then put everything in hyperdrive lowering taxes, starting 2 unnecessary and expensive wars and continuing the mind set about trickle down theory and greed is good. To all those who want to play Obama what could he have done personally to change where we are today?

Answer, is not extend the Bush tax cuts and keep Wallstreet out of the treasury department, get us out of these wars. He could have done all of those things without help from anyone. For most other things he needs Congress who are hell bent on defeating him country be damned. But make no mistake although too many Democrats are also bought and paid for, anyone who makes under $250k and votes Republican is a fool. They only care about the super rich which I suspect does not include anyone on this board. That they are able to convince so many that trickle down works after the last 10 years and we cannot raise taxes on the "job creators" is beyond my comprehension. Go watch the movie Idiocracy -- may be getting there sooner.

Yes, but that doesn't seem to be what's going on. You make it sound like there was a bet on a round of golf that would decide policy. I don't care whether they talk in their offices or on the golf course. I believe the country benefits when its leaders work to understand each other and their views so they can find areas of agreement and reach compromises where they don't agree. Spending some leisure time together can help foster a spirit of cooperation.

Here you go again. Blaming others for your personal failures. When are you going to take responsibility? The President and the House Speaker are self made who lived with in their means and didn't go into unnecessary debt. So when others play golf after hours, does it mean its a vacation?

Our economic situation begin when the previous administration irresponsibly squandered the surplus via tax cuts and the unpaid two wars. This was a ticking time bomb if and when the economy turns sour and less revenue hits the treasury via the 20 million plus unemployed.

What is your solution? Or are you going to hide again? You're age group cracks me up and not to be taken seriously.

We who see are not crazy. Our Vacationer-in-Chief is playing President. He has done nothing but make our Treasury pay off his boys. Now our Speaker is sniffing up 'Bammy's bung and crossing us who had faith albeit little of it, that the Rep's may be able to throttle "Golf Wizz" down a bit.

I see with my own eyes, no one speaks for me: The price of fuel, food, the empty houses at least two per mile all over our County, we now have a multitude of people with a card table selling tomatoes, and all week long yard sales. How do you spell depression? O B A M A, O B A M A!!!

Can't blame Bush as it is on his watch, not Bush's that this Country is falling into decay. We are certainly getting the best government money can buy. Pass the caviar Michelle.

i can understand that thought, but i just think a game of chess was cheaper and i just wanted to have a better understanding that they are more "thinkers" than "swingers".

i also understand many deals have come and gone with a game of golf, i, for the life of me, can't figure it out, but there must be something to it. my dad lives his life around it, swears he made more business deals on the course than he did in his office. so, i do get it, i just didn't think it that appropriate, but that's just me. (and i don't play golf, but i do play chess).

and your point is well taken, if it works, and i hope it does improve their relationship and things get moving, that everyone should start playing golf in the white house daily!

jacko, please, i do not think angelinacat is at all blaming anyone for any such thing. please be civil, this only a discussion and no one is a failure here!! or hiding.

and when you get OUR age, maybe you will understand and have a bit more respect for those that have experienced things that maybe you haven't. with life comes lessons jacko. we are all learning everyday, but the older we get usually the more lessons we carry with us, one of them being.......there is no reason to attack anyone. so please be nice, i know you can.
