need some help for my elderly mother

My mom has $25,000 cc debt, my dad doesnt know about it and she doesnt want him to find out about it. They are both in their 70s living on SS. I helped her get help thru Greenpath to get them paid off. Her health is slowly declining. I dont know if there are any options out there for her. She struggles every month to make this payment and will probably be on oxygen soon. Any suggestions would help thanks!

Your moms health is probably being affected by the stress of hiding the debt from her husband as well as the debt itself. Nothing good ever comes from hiding things like this from a spouse. Please talk to your Mom about coming clean and then addressing the debt with her husbands support.

Do yourself a favor and make an appointment and go see an Elder Care lawyer for a consultation as to your parents...best consultation fee you will ever spend in your life to help them out over the coming years and an eye opener for you. The advice will also help you make decisions as to their present and future financial state and what to do. Been there, done it and I always advise it.
