Did you know there is a clause in the fine print of the rental car company agreement that's says they may check your credit if your using a debit card to pay for the car rental? Nice huh?

Yep, some of the rental agencies will actually do it. I've had no problem with a Hertz location, but others have said they rented through Hertz and had their credit pulled. It's always best to contact the office you'll be renting from and ask what their requirements and procedures are.Filed pro se, made it through the 341, discharged, Closed!!!

I can't stand how credit reports seem to be pulled for everything these days! It seems that years ago, credit reports were never requested or used unless a person was applying for credit. Which is as it should be.
I hope to visit a friend this year, and want to be able to rent a car. I've been thinking, as I saw on another post, about maybe getting a secured credit card. Looks to be about the only way around car rental requirements.

I just rented a car last week at Enterprise (I am far beyond BK now and have a normal credit cards) and on the counter displayed for all to see was a listing of requirements that need to be met for using a debit card to rent a car. There were many restrictions including you could only use the car in your state or in mentioned neighboring states. Most car rental web sites state all the restrictions/clauses._________________________________________
