    cell phone sex chat scams!

ok...now both my boyfriend & I just got new cell phones, I got the razor, he got one of the other motorolla models...well, he's started to get text messages from sex text chats and never even called anything...it's just like on the computer like when you go to certain sites & then you get a virus...next thing you know, if you're getting a $20 charge to China for a sex site...and, if you think about it, our cell phones are just miniature computers anyhow...

Who is your provider? I have never had any problems like that and I dont know how they would start sending them to you if you have not been to something similar.

Cell phone numbers do not have to remain dormant as long, or like land line phone numbers do. Most likely, your boyfriend is getting text messages/phone calls for the person who previously had that phone number.

You might wanna call your cell phone carrier and discuss this issue with them ASAP. If you wait, you may have a HUGE cell phone bill to try to dispute. And it's tougher to take care of the charges afterward than if you prevent the charges occurring in the first place. It may even involve your boyfriend getting assigned a new number by the cell phone carrier.

The provider is Altell. I think what happened is when we tried text messaging our votes for "Deal or No Deal"....trying to pick the winning suitcase, he screwed up & somehow texted into that...

He's had the number for over a year...It might be due to our texting into the "Deal or No Deal" show...he already called Altell on it & they said it's the latest scam...if you reply the wrong way to cancel the text they charge you...now, before I pay my bill...I'm going to have to deal with this...

I'm sorry Amis. I saw Hileman's post and thought Hileman was the one having trouble.

If I'd paid attention, DUH!! and saw who the original poster was I woulda known you were with the same company as before.

no biggie....I've had my number since 2003 and his is over a year old....I guess the Razor is better than the kyrocera that I had as I can get receptions deep into stores as well as continue talking in areas of the island that I thought were dead zones...not true....this phone works everywhere!

I do love the picture taking ability as well as video with sound...for $99, you can't beat it...sent my $100 refund paperwork in...and should get that in 10-12 weeks....
