I know I can stock up on food, get my car fixed and things like that to remove any excess monies (I have about 2000 now and will have 322 from unemployment each week)
Do I worry about the 2000? Will the trustee take it? I'd like to keep it for a deposit on rent when my house forecloses, although my car does need tires and could use a battery. But, can I buy say, a food saver? Mine finally quit last week and it really has saved me a lot of money as I can buy when things are on sale and then freeze it for a much longer period of time.
What is considered frivolous? I know high ticket items are out - but I usually shop at thrift stores anyway. Not for something like a food saver though. If it's there, it probably doesn't work well.
This probably has been answered many times over and I have researched the posts, which is how I know about the high ticket items, but what is reasonable to spend? I'll be in a Chapter 7 FYI.
