OK!!!!!!!! what can ANYONE say about such caring people....what??? just how wonderful this forum is and what absolutely wondrous people are here and worried....i have had pm's.....emails for those few that have direct contact with me....

i had surgery and am suppose to be on complete bed rest for 8 weeks or i lose the hinge they put in my knee......that's NOT working for me...ROFL!!!!....so i'm hopping about with my walker and wheelchair...can't use crutches because i have two torn roter cuffs in my shoulders...since i jump out of planes weekly...ROFL!!!! not really....???? i just abuse my body a bit more than i should for my old age.....or actually a lot.

i hop into my office where i find my computer pooped.....now i open it up and order a new mother board....power source...just in case...and a new processor...just to cover all aspects of the darn thing. i'm NOT suppose to be up but i get the board in..., the new power source...the new processor and it starts up perfect and then goes off again...it just kept starting and turning off......send for ALL new parts....open the mother board box.....there is a pin already broken off.....so i need a 3rd one!!!!!!!!! but i put in the power source...cool....and the processor.......certain it's the mother board of course.........ok.....i get everything AGAIN...this time i'm going to do one piece of hardware at a time............ok....the THIS mother board has the bracket missing....so i have to pry it off the old NEW One........THEN i ok...we move on to the power source.............turn it on.........YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...NOOOOOOOOOO...it just keep shutting down...so now i KNOW it's the power source (which is the size of a small watermelon!)....i order ANOTHER mother board...just in case and then YET another power source...since that's what the problem is...it's the power source....it just keeps switching off tries to reboot and then just goes off again.....YUCK........i say....

my nice neighbor brought me over her laptop which is as i would say...i'd rather go "topless" than mouseless....however, her wireless router also makes it over to my bedroom area!!! (no where else...interesting...LOL!!) so i suppose i have to stick this out another 4 weeks and it's killing me....

now for some of the "good".....my new years resolution was to lose 10-15 pounds....i can proudly announce that i have probably lost 30 pounds with my dh cooking.....ROFL!! i thought he USE to cook????? he thinks olive oil is a solid food....ahhhhhhhhhhh.....

other good news....this is my final attempt at putting in the mother board and power source and BEST BUY will finally replace the computer......they are also giving me windows 7 free...(an oem copy)...so i can keep my old hard drive strip it and install the 7 since i think vista just a big virus!! LOL!!!



now.........from the bottom of my heart i can't tell you what it means to me for all your caring and i want to thank each and everyone of you for all your well wishes.........i'm back ....i for the moment anyway!!!!

Tobee, here is what your puter problem is. You have a shorted push button 'on' switch. If when you plug it in, it goes on and in about 4 seconds goes off, that is the switch. To test, unplug the wire that says pwr or the likes. The machine may come on or not. If not take your screw driver, momentarily short across those pins and when the machine stays on, you need the switch. They are hard to find since most come in the case and are not easily replaced or found to replace with the same. You may have to make one. I have plenty and would send you one if all that I've said pans out. 'Hub

Glad to see you here but PLEASE do what the Dr says. You don't want them to have to re-do it do you? That would be a real pain in the kazoo (whatever that is,LOL)

ahhhhhhhhhh hub...wish so....actually that was the first thing i trouble shot....i figure it was the actual off and on switch at first...no...first i thought the connectors may be lose....but it doesn't appear to be the switch itself...i get it up...it works and. the reboots or attempts to reboot...with the darn vista it went into restore mode and wiped out my restore points and corrupted so many of my programs at this point because of the auto fix with that virus vista.

great to be back and sitting up....i'm gettin to old for this stuff...LOL!!

still looking 7 days a week. Some medical issues with my folks and that requires some of my time and more added stress, but just hanging in there and trying to get back on track. thanks for asking. come on 2011, it is time for all of us to get our payback from life!!!

Toby....thanks so much! and i'm so glad to be back ....i'm not knowing about the pro thingy on the puter but i always liked taking things apart so i have always done my own puter repairs....however, today...it's over...4th mother board is not working neither is the power source....i had my first pc in 89....wow...makes me toooooooo old...LOL!!!

sooooooooooooooo that means best buy is giving me a new puter...or so they say. we were told they would call sometime this week... sooooooo i'm so lucky to have a nice neighbor...although she said she lent it to me so i stayed "down" LOL!!!
