Try eBay...there are DC jacks available for most laptops for $5-10 or so, although you might have to do some soldering.
If you're not up for it, a cheap docking station will hold you over until you get the money to get the machine properly fixed.
Good luck.

I can charge it with the docking station and not have to use the stupid AC port? I seriously have had nothing but problems with vaio. This is the second one I've had first one was warrantied out in like a year. I've had this one a year and 3 months or so now and have had to reset to factory settings once (that was probably my fault) now the charging port is loose again probably my fault but eh it irritates me!
I'm not at all familiar with Sony laptops, but most of the ones I've used (HP, IBM/Lenovo, Dell) have a separate input for charging via dock. Namely, the adapter plugs in the dock and the dock goes on the bottom of the laptop.
As I've said, no clue on how Sony goes about it, but I'm dead certain that I've seen their docking stations...now whether your particular machine can utilize one and what that would run you is not known to silly old me.
Good luck.

You wasted much more time than 23 seconds commenting on old threads..for what purpose? If a thread bothers you, then don't read it.
