    Almost Happy New Year?

Just a reminder that NONE of us should be here...LOL!!

(whilst i cook dinner for the new year)...and canceled every single plan just to be alone with dh and you) that's REALLY sorry...LOL!!!!!!!!!! we were actually invited to three parties....which i'd rather be here, in this house and in this forum or more clearly, our home...while instead being with others to celebrate and bring in the new year...i couldn't or wouldn't consider bringing anyone else into the picture other than the wondrous people of this forum and those i love......

once again happy new years to all....

You are so sweet. I actually stopped going out on New Years a few years ago because I figure there are too many crazies out there. This is a perfect way to celebrate the night.

    Happy New Year to all!

We traditionally do not go out on New Year eve. If stopped even one beer will get you a night in jail where we are. We have many sobriety stops here and there but especially on New Year. If you are seen to turn around before they "check your license", they will nab you big time and put you through all the tests even if you were dry.

We stay home and last night both fell asleep by 10:00. We personally had a good year in 10. I hope our Country will survive 11. 'Hub

it was nice this year...it was "community" parties....all within walking distances....however, i have yet to remember in the past 10 years that we have made it to the midnight hour....LOL!!! we made a nice dinner....couldn't even eat it all....and just loved relaxing more than anything...

we were young and foolish once...and remember hangovers etc., and really just don't see the point...ever...although i do like an occasional grey goose...it's AT HOME....(i would NEVER pay "bar" prices LOL!!).

also being married to a retired state police in one of his lifetimes.... he would never think about drinking and driving...ROFL!!! not even walking and drinking.......

we are so looking forward to staying in our jammies...locking the door...car in the garage...(if was hard for us to get use to the FLORIDA just drop in un-announced) visits...so we are rolling over lockin it up and turning the lights down ...can't wait!!!...(football...leftovers and the couch-computer!).

actually for us 2010 was interesting and full of challenging hurtles, but we jumped over and around all of the them and made it to the finish line. so now there is no where to go but straight ahead and make a greater future for us in 2011!

            Happy New Year to all!!!

This is my first post but want to let you all know that I have been navigating the site for a few weeks and have found a soft place to fall. We, as you call it, are in the 60 day club and the countdown is on!!! Scared being uprooted but I know this was truly the only choice and the right one so that is comforting.

hey Kodiek...sending along my welcome too. AND Happy New Year.
I like how you put it "A soft place to fall".
I have had shoulders to cry on here...alot of great folks.

We ,I should say me and 2 grandkids, stayed up and watched fireworks from the house. We live high on a hill and lots of people around do fireworks. Was snowing hard last night here so the fireworks thru the snow was pretty awesome.
Daughter n fam n daughters father in law spent the evening with us. They drove home, 3 hrs drive, in snow. Talked her into leaving 2 of the kids for the night. Had a great time playing Wii with them.
What a wonderful New Years Eve.

grandkids are a hoot....babies.....well, Tia is 14 and Toby is 12. The Wii bowling is our favorite. WE try and play a couple games of 100 pins everyday. Gets us off the sofa and out of the fridge. ROFL!!!!!
                    Jammies sounds great...
but i guess I'm gonna have to get dressed to take them home later today. OHHHH where is my "transporter" so i could just beam them home!!!!

Actually the "babies" went into hiding the moment the doorbell rang last night. Scaredy cats!!!

We made a pineapple upside down cake. And a BIG pot of ham with bunches of different veggies. The ham was from Christmas eve when we didn't have company (Toby sick) so just cooked it all up this week in hopes for new yrs eve company.
The 3 kids are Tia,Toby and Tad. Tad is a senior this yr. Wow am i getting old.
I just had to go up to the top and see what thread topic we were in. LOL
...like the one night a bunch of us girls were in the Ch 7 and got talking about cockroaches. Cleveland got us back on track when she connected Collectors to the roaches we were chattin about. hahahahaha

Welcome, kodiek, and hi to tobee and ACH and oregonpilot...it seems we are all enjoying the start of 2011. Our weather went from 58 degrees last night, when I was outside in the yard with the kids blowing airhorns and being crazy, to 18 degrees which means we are snuggled in our new little place and just relaxing. I am going to make rum truffles this afternoon - yummy!
