I just called into and spoke with the credit department manager at my local coop. We buy our propane through them to heat our home. I paid our current months bill of $550 and then asked about what we had to do when we filled next time. He was very nice to me and told me when it gets to 20% call in tell us how much you want, bring us a check for that amount and we will fill it. Ok that works I can do that .
An hour later he calls my husband at work to tell him that when the tank gets to 20% to call them tell them how much we want, bring them a check, blah blah blah. The same damn thing he told me.
Ok I may be female but that does not an idiot make. I know how to read the freaking gauge on my propane tank, I know how to do the math to see how much money will get me how many gallons of propane. I can even handle driving up to the coop and writing the check for the amount. You called my husband at work.............why?
I don't get it and I know it can't be like this everywhere. I live in a small midwestern town and the gentlemen in city government and other roles such as Mr. Credit Manager treat me like I am an idiot. I had to go out last year and get into a screaming match with the water meter reader because he said I owed them for 110,000 gallons of water on my bill. He moved all the numbers over one spot. I owed them for 11,000 gallons of water. This was after weeks of me arguing with them and telling them they were wrong and him coming out to read the meter repeatedly.
I just don't understand. I may be female, I may be a stay at home mother at this point but that does not make me uneducated.
