I am glad it is almost 2011

This year was a rough year for me, but I am finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. I am thankful to be done with my BK. I am able to save just a little money, but not much. I have about a year left at school and once I graduate I know my income will go up if I can find a job in my field. I am pursuing my teaching degree. I am trying to save as much money as I can right now and plan ahead, because next semester I will go to part-time at work due to my school schedule.

I also have an older female Shar pei that has had a very rough year. She has been in heart failure for a year and a half now. Last night I think she experienced a stroke. I am praying that it is not her time to go, but I understand if it is her time she will be in a better place. She will be 13 years old in January and I have had her for 12 years. She had a very rough start to life, but once I adopted her I have tried to give her the best life she can have.

I will be glad to see 2011 for sure. I am hoping that everyone else has a great start to the new year and has a wonderful holiday season!

exployer, I feel the same as you. I filed bk this year, went into foreclosure, my grandma died... but I did graduate with my bachelors, so I feel this will help me big time with a good job in 2011. I just got my chapter 7 discharge today.

Now I want to find a job, then I can rent a new place, then I can walk away from my house. Hopefully everything falls in that order.

    Good luck with your plans.

I'm sorry about your dog, it's hard to do the right thing when it becomes time -- you will know when it is time. We put our black lab down about 4 weeks before we moved from our house into our rental. The rental would not allow dogs so we knew we would have to put her down (she was 13), but she deteriorated quickly over a few days and it became time before we had to move. As hard as it was to put her down, I am still so relieved that she deteriorated like she did b/c it would have been so much harder to put her down before it was absolutely necessary. Hugs to you and I hope 2011 is the start of a wonderful new chapter in your life.

Hey Ex - my oldest son has an adopted Shar Pei; she is an awesome dog! I hope your girl is ok but if it is her time, you can be sure she loves you and you gave her a great life.

As far as saying goodbye to 2010, I am happy to show it the door. 'Course I was happy to bid farewell to 2009...and 2008, and 2007. My 11 year old has forbidden me to make the annual ring-in-the-New Year speech which goes something like "2011 will be the best year ever;" she says I am jinxing every new year. So maybe I need to say 2011 will suck and maybe it will be fabulous???!

I love the Shar pei breed. I have two rescue males we adopted almost 4 years ago. They are both sick though. One of the males has seizures and the other has a condition known as FSF. I still love them though. My female is feeling a little better today, but I have learned to take it one day at a time. If she makes it to the New Year I will be shocked.

I personally think that everything that happens in our life makes us stronger.

I stopped saying that the next year will be better than the last year. I am just glad to get to a new year!
