I was in the Navy, retired after the first Gulf war due to injuries. I too would like to give a hearty thanks to ALL who have served, past and present.
I saw a Medal of Honor recipient explain on TV this morning that the medal he wore around his neck was actually awarded to his fallen comrades, and that he was merely given the great honor of displaying it for them.
I thank God for people like these and for the hero's that they are displaying the medals for.

Happy Veteran's Day to all veterans today. We are blessed for your service and sacrifice.
Special note to my Papa that I am going to see this week. 85 year old Purple Heart veteran of World War II. I have more respect for this ornery old man than any person I have ever met.
I am so glad that my children have the chance to get to know their great-grand-papa and hope he sticks around long enough for them to remember him.
