I'll stick around to help others, as others have helped me in my time of need. That night when I Googled and found this forum, I was so relieved and surprised to see that such a forum exists. I was a lurker for about 10 minutes, then I had to sign up and spill my guts. I've come a long way from nervous wreck to confident poster. Thanks to all who created this great forum and thanks for all those who have answered all my questions, no matter how silly. Do y'all see the little tear trickling down my right cheek? LOL.

HAHA Drowning...I could have written your post

Now that I am filed and have my 341 date and am feeling a little more sane, I really have come to feel for the people that are just posting about filing...My advice is, it does get better!

Our 341 meeting is next week, but I plan to stick around after we're discharged. I'm here all the time but only as a lurker, because I honestly don't feel that I have anywhere near the expertise that others do when it comes to navigating this world, but I feel comfortable being here because out there in the "real world" nobody knows about our BK and there's just so much of my life that's hidden from view right now; it's nice to have somewhere to go where I don't feel like a loser for being in the situation I'm in.

This site provided a lot of information for me. I was just discharged over 3 weeks ago and I feel such sense of relieve. I am able to help my daughter with her wedding and dont feel stressed out over my financials. Today is the 7the month and I've paid all the bills for the month. I still have one house that is a rental and its a bit behind on the payment but I am working on that. I was trying to modify that loan.

But my life feels so settled..everything in its place. I now have $9,000 saved up in the bank for emergency and next month will be having regular payments made towards my retirement account. I couldnt do this before and I was always alwasy broke..didnt know where anything was and everything was paid late. So from here on the the end of the month..it will be just money towards my savings account. I am planning to do a little remodeling to my house to spruce it up..but nothing major.

Thank you everyone on this site...I was able to go through this very difficult process with your help. I will continue to come here to help others.

I wish I'd found this site sooner. We filed pro se and I think everything is in order, but I am so worried about every little thing. I hate to say I'm glad that anyone else has had this sick feeling in the pit of the stomach, but it does help to know we aren't alone. My neck and shoulders are in a constant state of tension lately. We are 26 days away from our 341 and I keep wondering if I'll fall completely apart before then.

I hang around this forum, because there is still a lot to learn from people here about money management. I also want to pay it forward and give back.

My attorney handled the basics, but there is SO MUCH more to learn. This site provided so much information and RELIEF from uncertainty & panic. My BK is discharged, but it's not ALL over yet...... still have the foreclosure to deal with.... and still have the "pay & stay" to deal with.....and I'm still flat broke...... so I come to this site to LEARN more and try to get through it all..... financial ruin is just no fun. At least I'm not alone. Thanks to everyone for making it easier for me....sometimes even funny.

I think it's b/c I have experienced all of the same bad feelings that people going through it now are feeling and it brings it all back. Our bk was only discharged in July 2010 so we're not that far out and the feelings are still very fresh.

On the other hand, I feel compelled to stick around hear and continue to learn and educate myself about so many different things on this site -- what I love so much about this site is the immense amount of information about so many different topics. I have never been much of a follower of politics, but now I really enjoy reading the different views and political discussions that go on. I love that this is a one stop shop for everything financial, from credit rebuilding to financial management, to making correct business decisions in our personal lives and the sound advice and suggestions from our fantastic moderators -- thank you moderators!

Anyway, I think I'm here to stay for quite a while ...
I regret not seeing this before. This is most difficult for me as the help I received was far too late before we became "educated". However, being educated was our first priority. We wish to know more to help others from making the mistakes we have in a very big way. I consider our discharge rather than dismissal as a gift from God as well as the dismissal of an AP brought upon us by he who caused our initial distress, leading in my opinion to a physical problem bringing on "C". That causing medical cost, he causing job loss, brought upon us, BK.

Before our downfall, we in our retirement were active in helping others. We like this. It was not a problem to write a 100 dollar check with no regret or need to worry. Now today, that is big money.

We have learned more than a lesson. We have learned what real values are. Things and money are not what is important. Money is only a tool, not a goal.

In staying on, not only have we found friends, a family, but for only our time and enjoyment, we can help people and it costs us nothing but what I mentioned. What a bargain. I truly love this place. I/we truly love some of our 'unmet and anonymous but by nick name' friends. You do not need to know a person to love a person.

The poster who returns but relives the pain, don't feel that way. The pain is your education, now you know what others felt (as you did) and this makes you stronger to help others.

It is, in a nutshell we are here to: HELP OTHERS!

                          Hi everyone

I'm probably one of the newest discharged bk here. My discharge was on Oct 13, just 2 days ago and I'm waiting for the case to close and the paperwork. I think I'm gonna stick around for a long while or until I got kicked out All I want to do is just to share my bk experience and what I know, what I do to many filers in the future, especially helping them preventing the mistakes that I made in anyway that I can. The sick feeling of the year before bk is still lingering around and every time I think back and will probably years to come, believe it or not. My only regret is not finding this forum earlier.
