    rental car

there have been a few posts on rental cars, as to which take debit cards...i just reserved with hertz.....they gladly take a debit card, with 200 hold Plus amount of car rental for as long you are renting...ie..200 plus 60 bucks a day for rental...so i am keeping car for 3 days...so they will hold 380 pluse taxes...now i dont know if all hertz are the same, as i live somewhat in the boondocks area....hertz at lax might be different......

A few years ago, I rented a car from Nationwide using my debit card. They did not put a hold on funds.

I believe they all take debit cards since a debit card is basically a credit card with the credit limit being your bank account (debit cards sometimes have daily minimums). If you use a credit card for a car rental they also put a hold on funds. Just take a look at your available credit during the rental period and you will see it will be lower.

I used Priceline.com to reserve my car for my upcoming vacation , I named my price and
all I am paying is $15.oo a day for a compact and they are only holding $200.00 funds but you pay upfront and if you cancel there are no refunds. Using my debit card and photo id as well as showing my return flight is booked and proof of insurance.
Last year before I filed I tried to rent a car and was declined!! My daughter had to co- rent with me and we had to pay out the nose for it. I even called Hertz to
verify information and she said there shouldn't be any problems. I will let you all know
        when I return.
