    what should I pay

I have recently had a heart attack and can no longer work. To make matters worse I had no health insurance. I dont have enough money for all my creditors so I was thinking of just paying my "secured" debts and letting my unsecured go into default...Is this a good option for me? Thanks to all

If you are now of social security or disability and will be permanently.... you should consider filing bankruptcy to "wipe out" all the other debts in your life and get your life back in a financial place that you can live on and with....
If you own a home and intend to keep it, be sure the payments are prompt and on time and in full. Same with an auto you intend to keep.
All the secured and unsecured other debts - especially unsecured can be let go in bankruptcy.
Wouldnt hurt to sit down and have a free consultation with a BK attorney and see where you stand right now and what options are open to you.
If your drawing SS, disability, or most retirements, they are "off-limits" to the Trustee to seize to pay creditors.
If your are really financially strapped, and especially with medical bills included, then bankruptcy will relieve the stress and help get your life back on a good track.
REMEMBER - filing is a "business decision" that sometimes is the best option for you, even though you may not want to go that route.
Medical bills is the MAJOR cause of bankruptcy among most folks that are honest about paying their bills.
Few folks filing bankruptcy are "deadbeats" who just run up credit cards - then file.
Keep us posted about what you decide and ask questions and we'll try to help answer any for you.

Thank you so much for the info Minny....I dont think I can file bk though because I deeded over my property to a relative soon after I was released from the hospital. The simple truth is that I just dont know how much longer I will live and I dont want my heir to have to go through probate to get my property when Im gone. Of course, it LOOKS like I transfered property to hinder creditors, although it has nothing to do with that issue at all. So I think I have to tough this thing out as long as I can. I went to home depot and bought some stencils and paint and now I go door to door painting addresses on curbs for 10 bucks a throw. Hey, I know it aint the best but its all Ive got right now.....Minny, fo you think I would get flagged by trustee if I tried bk?

my roommate had a heart attack and a stroke on new years eve..she was in icu..critical care...and rehab for over a month...the bills are coming in now..thankfully she had medicare and private insurance..but the hosp bill was 215,000....she used 3 separate ambulances and a lifeline flight...which were over 25,000....so i know what you are going through...good luck...if filing bk isnt a option...be sure to make yourself judgment proof...and be careful of your bank accts..and assets....
