Should I put a security lock on my credit report

I am about to file Ch 13 very soon to try to keep my house. My credit is a big mess.

I have been out of work. I was just offered a position with a company where I am a great fit.

I signed papers for a background check and credit check. I have gone for the drug test.

If I do not get this job due to my poor credit history, I was thinking about putting a security lock on my 3 credit reports. This way when an employer goes to check my credit history they will only get a security message alert.

Potential Employers might think that I am just an identity theft victim.

I am just so desperate to get a job it's not like I want to be dishonest, however my children have to eat. I work in Retail.

With a chapter 13 I will not be able to apply for new credit anyway.

    Any Advice/Opinions would be appreciated!

    Thanks

I put a security freeze on my credit bureau files and my wife's for the exact reason you mention, employment.

It's also terribly scary the number of low life's working at collection agencies who've had access to our information (thanks, BofA/Citi/Chase/etc).

Finally I put a promotional block on our credit files mainly to deny them the value in selling our information.
filed chapter 13..confirmed...converted to chapter 7...DISCHARGED!
