This thread is totally off topic and now getting into pseudo-name calling. For the love of Bankruptcy... let's just agree not to agree!

so the grossly obese drunk that staggers into a mc, d,s orders a couple of big macs, and supersizes the fries, and then walks outside and lites a cigarette, takes a couple of puffs, and drops dead, will just be remembered as the smoker that croaked..
Smoking increases the risk of heart attack and stroke too. So I would not be surprised to see your fat drunk Big D smoker croak, since he has all the risk factors for heart disease.
Smoking costs this country billions in extra health care. Secondhand smoke is not a joke for non-smokers that must live or work around it. Have you not heard about the night club waitress who died of lung cancer in her 50's? She never smoked in her life. What about exposing children to smokers in the home? This is not a problem for you because the smoker has "rights"?
All of the other so called vices are not dangerous when used in moderation. That you associate drunkenness with alcohol use says something about your personal experiences. Same with eating and poor diet when carried to extremes- but eating is not optional. Smoking is optional.
Why are distilled spirits taxed higher than beer and wine? Because more people abuse distilled spirits and damage others after drinking the hard booze.
I don't know of any wine drinkers that are alcoholics. (And homeless winos don't count - that's not even wine they drink.)“When fascism comes to America, it’ll be wrapped in a flag and carrying a cross” — Sinclair Lewis

How About:- blame the city for air pollution
- blame the manufacturer of his shoes? (perhaps he tripped)
- oh, and the person who poured the concrete? (perhaps there was a crack)
- blame the beef company for selling McDonald's the over-hormoned beef?
- blame Idaho? (I mean, they made the potatoes, right?)
- blame the Bush Administration? (I mean, they allowed the Corporations to grow)
- blame the Obama Administration? (I mean, they can't pass a health care bill which clearly would have saved this man)
Blaming the cigarette company is too obvious. Everyone should know well and understand that cigarettes kill (period). Should a person choose this, I personally don't feel they are entitled to any free medical care related to any disease caused by smoking. I mean... this is the perfect reason why pre-existing conditions should actually be applied in some limited circumstances.
Unfortunately, I'm also for personal choice, so that means do what you want but at your own risk. I don't want the Government telling me that I can't smoke. (For the record, I don't smoke, never smoked, never even puffed once, but should I choose to...)
In closing... do you know the difference between being a drunk and being an alcoholic? (Answer: Drunks don't have to go to those meetings.) (For levity's sake.)Chapter 7 (No Asset/Non-Consumer) Filed (Pro Se) 7/08 (converted from Chapter 13 - 2/10)

i admit i am just being sarcastic here...i am living with a person that has spent the whole month of january in the hospital...two weeks connected to a breathing machine..she was the 3 pack a day smoker...the doctors told her if she smoked again she would at the very least be back in the hosp quickly.if not worse..well she has been home a month..on oxygen to live....and still bedridden..yet she turns off oxygen enough to smoke a pack of cigarettes a day now...the nurses had to tie her to the bed in the hospital because of her withdrawal from smoking. she pleaded with me to bring her a cigarette..even wanted me to push bed outside for cigarette...it was heartbreaking to see her go through that...yet now she is doing the same thing.....i can see signs of her regressing to like she was when she went in...pleading does absolutely no good...so yes,,,i know very well the effects of smoking on a person......

This kept going on for 3 months until the last ride in the Rescue was merely a formality as she was DOA.
I do feel that if the manufacturers of any product, whether Dunkin' Donuts coffee (which I swear they put something in it!), or McDondald's or even Cigarettes, put something addictive in the product in order to entice you to get hooked, then they should be partially iable.Chapter 7 (No Asset/Non-Consumer) Filed (Pro Se) 7/08 (converted from Chapter 13 - 2/10)

People, people, people.
This is your one warning. Either drop the insults and personal jabs here and on other threads or one week bans will commence. No exceptions. No excuses.
Continue the rudeness and personal slurs after a time out - remember, there's no member we can't live without. Permanent bans will commence.
Either change your settings to ignore the offending person or send a PM to the mods and we'll deal with it if it truly is an offense that breaks forum rules and not just "poking the bear" in turn once the insults have started flying both ways. Ignore or notify mods are your only two choices if you want to stay posting. Nuf' said.
Let's get back to the business of helping each other. That's why we're here.I am not a lawyer and this is not legal advice nor a statement of the law - only a lawyer can provide those.
