Read in a local paper yesterday that AIG posted a 10.8 billion yes billion dollar loss for the last quarter of 2009. They are scrambling to sell off more of their holdings to recoup some loss, but haven't ruled out more bail out money. They said it was better than the 100 billion loss in the previous year. If this government even thinks about bailing them out again, I will have lost all hope and respect and will know where the priorities truely lie. As if we don't know already. GMAC is about one step behind them as well after three government injections. On a lighter note vp Biden said the job picture is looking better. There are only 35,000 job losses per month now compared to 750,000 job losses a year ago and the stimulus is working. Duh! The pile is dwindling! Of course the number is going to drop! Go figure.
Sorry for venting, but I can't seem to see recovery in my little acre. It irks me to know the tax check I am writing to the IRS will be put to futile use.
