I have never spent much time thinking about Ron Paul's ideas, but there is much wisdom in his words, IMHO.

The political problems are so great, though, that I see virtually no chance of government reigning itself in. Any cuts in any of the big budget items would result in political suicide for the Congressmen and women who were strong-willed enough to support them. We truly are a nation of gluttons feeding off the public trough, to such a large degree that we, ourselves, have become the problem. Cuts to Medicaid? People who rely on it will run you out of office. Ditto for Social Security. We have seen what happens when banks go crazy. We pile money into their vaults.

We may be in a futile race against time that no one really wants to fight anyway.

China today issued a threat.. geesh... Maybe that is the nation we are involved with that we should not be that will bring us all down.
