What a difference a year can make!!

I was just looking back at all of the changes that have occurred in my life in the past 365 days. Last year at this time, I had just filed and wasnt even close to being discharged yet ...

December 22, 2008 - My lawyer filed my papers.. I got a copy of everything in the mail Christmas Eve last year... an early Christmas present indeed!

    January 2009 - 341 Meeting

    April 20, 2009 - Discharged

Since then, Ive moved out of my surrendered house, and into the house of my dreams (albeit a rental) on the lake. Ive gotten my 2nd job back (was laid off) and have a savings account and CD for the first time in my life! I have experienced significant personal, financial and emotional growth throughout the past year. I signed up for 2 college classes last week! (I hadnt been able to afford it for the past 6 years).

Looking back on last year at this time, everything was a whirlwind and the future was too uncertain...

Merry Christmas everybody.... may your current stresses and worries be lifted as it will soon be better and you will be looking back on this time in your life in relief.

Thanks for the encouraging post. I'm almost a year "behind" you and hope to be able to make a similar post next year.

We filed in October, had the 341 the first of December and are now awaiting discharge in February. For various reasons I'm maintaining two households right now (not because of marriage issues, thank goodness), but we should all be back in one house by the end of next summer. Once that happens a lot of the financial (and emotional) pressure will be lifted since I can drop about $1,500 in additional expenses.

    Looking forward to brighter days!

I believe thats why they call it "A Fresh Start"... For alot of different reason everyone on here has MAJOR financial issues and find our only way out is to declare bankruptcy.
And I for one never in a million years thought it would be ME !!! But it is what it is and hoping my 5 yr Chapter 13 is alot better than the sinking ship I have been on for quite a while..
Congrats and Merry Christmas to you and your family !! Enjoy the lake
