I am wondering how long after filing did yuo receive your first check? My husband lost his job in September and filed towards the end of the month and has not received anything. Praying we receive something before Christmas....or else.

If he got a severence package, they generally wait unitl the runs out.

He didn't receive severage package. They just gave him is vacation pay that he had left. They put it on his last paycheck. That was Oct 1st.

Spoke to one of his friends. He didn;t get his first check till 9 weeks after filing.

I am laid off as of today and doing the online paperwork. First week is the "waiting" week and you get nothing for that. One weeks wages I will never recover. Never did understand that. I will be waiting patiently at the mailbox. Don't expect anything til January.
