    Citifinancial, auto pay loan...

I need to stop it. Not sure if anyone has had any experience with this, but I'm really not sure how to go about it.

I have an unsecured loan with Citi. My BK attorney (once I retain him, we're working out our loan mod on the house first) has told us we'd be best to stop paying ALL unsecured debt. We had stopped the CC payments, but not on a couple other unseucured debts. Citi withraws the payment automatically from my bank account. I called my credit union, and they said because it's something they did not set up, they couldn't just stop the payment from being taken. They said I have to fill out a form, and state the date I informed Citi I wouldn't be paying it. Do I just call citi and say, "yeah, for this loan, XXXXX, well, I'm not paying it any more, thanks, have a great day!" Is that all? Or am I supposed to talk a financial institution into NOT taking money from my account on a monthly basis, as I agreed to in the terms of the loan?

    Anyone have to do this?

It would be easier to close the account out and move it to another account. Even in the same CU. They cannot cross the account number barrier. I would keep just enough money in it to cover any outstanding checks, shred you old check books and you don't have to talk to anyone. Open another account. 'Hub
