the answer to your questions (in my opinion) are all no. but keep in mind that debt never goes away so you may have bill collectors calling you forever.

As stated by others, you are not Judgment proof and a Judgment could haunt your future.

My questions are: (1) Do I need to update the address they have on file, to keep them from talking to people at the old address? That would be good if you do not want your personal business discussed.Not at all. You just get a Judgment by default.It would not do any good. It is like spitting against the wind. (4) Can the sheriff come into your home to look for assets? Yes they actually can. It takes a 'writ' and anything of value could be seized. I saw this could happen in some areas. It would freak me out. Me too.

i use the social security debit card...the fees are few..mostly if you withdraw from atm...but you can go into just about any bank and withdraw money for free...and no usage charges at stores...even with cash back...it works great..and cant be attached....

Very interesting. I didn't know the SSA had that, I'll look into it. I was thinking about getting a card I could put my retirement check into, paying with a debit is so much easier than with cash. Of course I probably need to use cash, just to see where it is going. Thanks for the letter info also.

you can program your cell phone, so that certain numbers are silent or just vibrate...it worked well for me... works for pesky people you just dont want to talk to..
