For anyone who was wondering...
(Quick Recap-I started a temp/perm position Aug. 1. Since I found the position thru an agency, I had to work for them for 13 weeks X 40 hours before the company could hire me directly, else they'd pay a big fee. The company was moving an office to this area from out of state, and several transferred down but they needed 2 more people right away, didn't want to deal with looking for people when they got down here.) It was always my understanding that they intended to keep the 2 permanently, and I was NEVER treated differently than the 'employees' except that I didn't have a key to the office.
Anyhow, as of Monday 10-31 I completed my 13X40 hours. I hadn't heard anything yet, so I emailed my contact at the agency. She explained that they weren't even able to discuss permanent employment til th 13X40 had passed, and she was sure they would soon as she understood they were happy w/ me.
As of this week, still nothing. My manager was out of town on Thur/Friday for training on new software they're going to be using come January. I didn't want to be the one to bring it up, but I do need to know where I stand, KWIM? (Plus I expect to make a little more $$, and will start the clock on being eligible for benefits once hired.) So I emailed a short note, just stated I needed to know where I stand. This is what I got back:
I am very sorry for my lack of communication on my part. I am very very
satisified with your work, probably overly satisfied with your work.
You are a very good worker. I could not have made this transition as
smooth without all of your help.
I would be more than delighted to offer you a position at XXXXX if you
are willingly to accept.
We'll cover the details on Monday!
