Sheesh, I'm in my lower forties, and already made $2.5M. I don't know where it all went.

We had a new restaurant open in town, a diner actually. Though why anyone wants to open a food establishment in this economy is beyond me. Those are one of the first to fail.
Anyway, there was no advertisement of any kind other than a few of those 'vote for XXXXXX' type signs stuck in the ground at various intersections announcing that the XYZ Diner was open. 'Hub and I rode by a few times and it was never full, nor did we have cash in hand to try it out.
After two weeks of being supposedly open, it is now very firmly closed with all furniture gone and a 'For Rent' sign in front of it.
I don't know whether the owners really intended trying to make this place go, or if it was simply a front for a tax write-off. I tend to think it is the latter scenario.
Sadly, it seems that our small community is the playground for investors buying up property with grandiose ideas, only to be able to have tax write-offs. And our community suffers."To go bravely forward is to invite a miracle."

There's a local restaurant near me that has had a "closed due to maintenance" sign for over 3 months. Looking inside, yields no sign of fire, water damage... or any "maintenance" issues.Chapter 7 (No Asset/Non-Consumer) Filed (Pro Se) 7/08 (converted from Chapter 13 - 2/10)
