"Thank you for being a valued customer and for choosing Chase. We value your business and appreciate the opportunity to serve your financial needs.
In a recent review of your account, we noticed that you have used only a limited amount of your credit line with us. We believe this may indicate that your current credit line is higher than required to meet your usage and/or spending needs. To better align your account with those needs, we have adjusted your credit line to $5,500.
While we believe this new line is more than what you will use based on past usage patterns, please note that if you have made purchases or written checks that result in your balance being greater than this new credit line, you will have 45 days from the date of this letter to make payments to bring your balance below your credit line. If your account is overlimit, after this 45-day period, your account may be assessed an overlimit fee and the overlimit status could result in your receiving notice of an APR change on your account.
If your needs have changed, please contact us at the toll-free number found on the back of your card so we may re-evaluate our decision with the most current information available. Your business is important to us, and our advisors are available 24 hours a day to assist you.
Sincerely,
Deb Walden

This is the original $2K Providian Visa I got about a year after my BK7 discharge. When Providian was purchased by WaMu they raised my limit to $5K. When Chase acquired WaMu they raised my limit to $11K. Thing is, I keep a zero balance and actually force myself to charge $100 or so every now and then, just to keep the account open. I guess Chase didn't like the fact they aren't making any money off me, so they halved my credit limit to $5,500. No big deal to me at all, but wanted to share it with you all so that you know what the fricking CC companies are up to these days!
