I recently had house guests from Germany for 3 days and then they went on to DisneyWorld, New York City and back home to Munich. They shrewdly remarked that shopping at an American Walmart was like making a quick trip to China. They called it "Chinamart." So true.

I work for a large auto group. We get a "This is whats happening this month" flier with our pay checks. In it includes the sales numbers of who sold how many of what. The group consist of , Chevy, Ford, Toyota, Hyundai. Chrysler dealership went bankrupt 5 months ago, empty building now. Anyhow, Thanks to the "Cash For Clunkers" Toyota was the winner selling a total of 142 new and used cars, Hyundai 43, Ford 52, Chevy 21. Around here, everybody is buying Toyota, Nissan, ect..... whether they are built here or there or the north pole, The name of the manufacturer sounds very far away and most people could care less anymore. People will buy what "they" want with the money "they" made and that is how it should be. A free to choose society............ I wonder if we really make anything anymore? Company's have there stuff made in china with cheap materials and labor so they can make more money on it here in America or where ever. Greed is the cancer here! Look where the country is now, Greed has made everything the way it is today.

Every part i install is from some other country according to the package its in. So what is American anymore?

Our economy has transitioned from a once primarily agricultural economy to a manufacturing economy and now a service economy. The transition from manufacturing to service allowed many many Americans an opportunity their parents never had.

Those who lost manufacturing jobs to competition overseas deserve our sympathy. On the larger level it has been a good thing for all Americans.

In spite of the constraints the government tries to put on our free market economy our system remains the most successful model in the history of mankind.
Well, I did. Every one of 'em. Mostly I remember the last one. The wild finish. A guy standing on a station platform in the rain with a comical look in his face because his insides have been kicked out. -Rick

I agree with this Ohio. Most folks are having trouble dealing with the change.

The only thing that scares me is we had 2 bubbles in the last 10 years and it seems like that maybe a way of life.

Obama said he wants to put a stop to this. Yeah right! Knock yourself out Mr. Prez.
The essence of freedom is the proper limitation of Government
