    Judgement answer letter

Amex place a judgment against me and I need to answer it to buy time before file. Have to be fast since august 6, is the deadline. Is a general letter to answer this or what is the process to do it? Thanks

I believe you can find a response letter online...but I was lucky enough to have a lawyer draw one up for me...this is it basically
IN THE COURT OF COMMON PLEAS OF --------- COUNTY
    PENNSYLVANIA

PUT SUEING PARY NAME HERE CASE #

    VS

    YOUR NAME CIVAL ACTION

    ANSWER TO COMPLAINT

    1. ADMITTED or denied ( whatever way you are going to respond)

    2 ADMITTED or denied

    3. ADMITTED IN PART / DENIED IN PART (can also be used)

Continue until you have answered all the charges on there original judgement

WHEREFORE, Defendant respectfully request the Honorable Court deny relief to the Plantiff

    Respectully submitted

    sign your name
    Defendant
    Your address

    2nd page

top is same as page 1
    CERTIFICATE OF SERVICE
I, blah blah blah, herby cerify that I served the foregoing answer to Complaint upon
the parties listed below by first class mail
(meaning you sent your sueing party a copy of the 1st page)

    date & sign your name

take it to the prothonotary at the court house...she /he will give you a cover sheet and your done.... at least that is how it worked for me

    Good Luck

Look at www.creditinfocenter.com and check under the 'is there an attorney in the house' section of the forums. There is a ton of info on how to answer...including how to specifically answer the summons.

I don't understanding needing to buy time before you file. I am new here, so it is probably just something I am clueless about. But even if they got a judgement against you, couldn't you still file BK and include that with it?
Or is it you can not file on a judgement once it reaches that state?

                Sorry, I am just confused.

After the judgement is granted and a lien is issue I THINK That you cant include it to BK.

Just an update on my case... I sent in a reply to the judgement...Today in the mail I got papers from Mann Bracken answering my reply and now I have another 30 days to respond. Have my fingers crossed that my BK gets filed before then...
