Amex place a judgment against me and I need to answer it to buy time before file. Have to be fast since august 6, is the deadline. Is a general letter to answer this or what is the process to do it? Thanks
I believe you can find a response letter online...but I was lucky enough to have a lawyer draw one up for me...this is it basically
IN THE COURT OF COMMON PLEAS OF --------- COUNTY
PENNSYLVANIA
PUT SUEING PARY NAME HERE CASE #
VS
YOUR NAME CIVAL ACTION
ANSWER TO COMPLAINT
1. ADMITTED or denied ( whatever way you are going to respond)
2 ADMITTED or denied
3. ADMITTED IN PART / DENIED IN PART (can also be used)
Continue until you have answered all the charges on there original judgement
WHEREFORE, Defendant respectfully request the Honorable Court deny relief to the Plantiff
Respectully submitted

Thanks for you response, I'm searching on google and cant find a letter so I'll use your sample. If anyone have a link of a letter, will be appreciated.
Look at www.creditinfocenter.com and check under the 'is there an attorney in the house' section of the forums. There is a ton of info on how to answer...including how to specifically answer the summons.

I don't understanding needing to buy time before you file. I am new here, so it is probably just something I am clueless about. But even if they got a judgement against you, couldn't you still file BK and include that with it?
Or is it you can not file on a judgement once it reaches that state?
Sorry, I am just confused.

Just an update on my case... I sent in a reply to the judgement...Today in the mail I got papers from Mann Bracken answering my reply and now I have another 30 days to respond. Have my fingers crossed that my BK gets filed before then...
