I have been unemployed for the past two years. I live in NC and I am single, age 58, rent home. I have taken courses to upgrade my job skills but have been unsuccessful. As a result I have been living off my charge cards. I am thinking seriously about a chapter 7 but what problems might I have since I have been using these cards without an income. Mollymae

Well Molliemae, if I may be so bold to ask, for two years you have been unemployed, you rent, you have been living off cards? How have you been paying these cards?
Now, after that question is answered, you could get more help. If you are going to go C7, you should not use cards for at least 90 days to avoid a shadow of fraud. Please do explain. 'HubIf I knew it all, would I be here?? Hang in there = Retained attorney 8-06, Filed 12-28-07, Discharge 8-13-08, Finally CLOSED 11-3-09, 3-31-10 AP Dismissed, Informed by incompetent lawyer of CLOSED status, October 14, 2010.

Thanks for your post molly. No reason to be nervous, this forum is for sharing(the good and the bad).
BK is rarely the answer. Why haven't you been able to find a job? Are you willing to start at the bottom again? I had to when I lost my job in 2006.
Since you are renting, are you able to move to a area where there are better employment opportunities?
Thanks. God Bless America.
